Rachel Jennings

Our Osteopaths are Rachel Jennings Bsc (Hons) Ost, BA (Hons), Helen White BSc(Hons) Ost, and Rob Outram BSc(Hons)Ost.

Rachel and Rob both trained at Oxford Brookes University. Rachel continued her studies at the College of Osteopaths before qualifying as a Registered Osteopath in 2002. Prior to this she had trained in Remedial Massage and Manipulation after giving up her post as a Secondary school teacher. She built up her own practice in Leicester (Backs etc).

Rachel has also worked at the Belper Natural Health Centre, before setting up her own practice again.

Rachel has studied many different techniques as her eclectic style demonstrates. She favours a modern approach that uses the most up-to-date approaches in manual medicine, and continues to extend her skills with regular courses beyond the compulsory 40 hours/year. Her interests include the Alexander Technique for posture and tension, visceral, functional and cranial osteopathy, pilates, Yoga and breathing work. In general her approach attempts to be gentle but effective. For over 6 years she has also practiced Acupuncture (Western Medical style) which she finds very effective for fast pain relief and resolving headaches and helping many other muscle, tendon, ligament and joint problems.

She specialises in back and neck problems, but is very interested in rehabilitation after injury and has a lot of success with headaches, knees and shoulder problems. Although as an Osteopath, she is highly competent in diagnosing and treating most musculo-skeletal problems.

After training as a Yoga Teacher in India, Rachel also offers several classes including Yoga for pregnancy, and Therapeutic Yoga to help people recover from injuries and pain, cope better with stress, and get exercising again in a safe, supportive environment.

Rachel lives in Kilburn with her partner. When she in not working, she enjoys gardening, walking, cycling and regular exposure to sunshine.
